This book was very hard for me to finish and there was multiple things I didn't like about it. One, I did not feel any chemistry between Cait or Dante, as a couple they feel flat for me. Second, I found Cait to be one of the most wishy washy, hypocritical, self absorbed female characters I have ever had the misfortune of reading. Her whole outlook of changing people's " assumptions" about how others see you and you see yourself is so hypocritical. Throughout the book she still sees herself as being obese and unattractive-trust me I know once you lose weight it is very hard to build confidence- but she is the one teaching others to change and she can't do it. Thin women beware reading this, while Cait doesn't like people to assume things about her, she assumes every thin woman is either a moron or a tramp...give me a break, it was so offensive reading her thoughts about thin women and it doesn't help that the author couldn't put an intelligent thin woman in the book. Also, there was this constant thread through the book discussing Cait's "struggles" and how much she has suffered, meanwhile Dante basically was raised by a nanny and he works hard to have the career and physique he has and Cait dismisses these facts about him because she is the only one allowed to have the "issues" in the book. The only good thing was Dante, he was a good solid character, I have no idea the appeal he had for Cait since she was shy one second, bold and demanding another, and whiny the next. Just for the record most thin women work really hard to stay thin and trim, for most, like myself, we spend 5-6 days a week in the gym so the thin women bashing was ludicrous.... Save yourself from reading a book about another annoying, whiny female lead and don't get this book!!!Tags : Extreme Love (Love to the Extreme) [Abby Niles] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Extremely boring and annoying would be a better title for this one.
Unrealistic, uneventful with one full MMA fight is what this one provided. I was so drawn in by the book cover and the blurb that I thought this would be a really good one!! So you can imagine my shock when I start reading and wanna stop.
Not one to practice giving up on a book in the first couple chapters, I stick through it and boy was I disappointed!!
Take out the girl best friend, the heroine, the opponent and everything else and leave the hero and the gay best friend and his boyfriend, and I would have at least given this 4 stars but as is, I'm wavering between 1 and 2. It wasn't even a fairly satisfying read.
I got the whole weight loss struggle and proving a point in your given field or passion, and I was therefore behind them 100% as I struggle with both at some point on my life, but Cait was annoying and Dante was awesome! I literally read the book just for him and really wish he would realize that Cait wasn't and still isn't worth it.
Some main characters (like the girl best friend and coach) grew very insignificant and annoying. There was little development of these relationships and characters, and as such I hardly followed these relationships so was therefore shocked at the outcomes in the impromptu and unnecessary epilogue.
On the bright side, the editing wasn't bad and the grammar was near impeccable! So there are pluses there.
I understand that alot had to be conveyed over two months, but not much developed, other than Dante is a love sapped fool and Cait is an annoying girl who I am surprised haven't killed herself yet from sheer self doubt and lack of confidence in everything.
The woman is so depressing I am surprised she teaches a weight loss class. She had me mapping out how fat could she possibly be, to just throwing in the towel and thinking that she either looks like Shamu or she's average and just looking for attention!
The fights were not intense nor extreme in the bit, and I honestly thought I'd get more, but I must note that I loved how she initially described the fight between Sentori and Dante when it just began. But as usual, Cait arrived and it all went to s***!
I don't even wanna get started with the unnecessary and unrealistic kidnapping nearing the end of the book If your gonna commit to a situation and emotion, just do it! The whole half cock, half effort was just annoying and had me face palming alottt!!
The epilogue just had me in a wth state, because it was not needed nor did it do much. It seemed like literally a folder leaf of information with an 8 months later attached note, aka, unnecessary!
Give me Paul, Jack and Dante any day! Cause if not for those three, this story would be a total bust.
It's safe to say this one definitely wasn't for me. However, give it a try, it may be your cup of tea!
An alpha male that is an MMA fighter who has a heart of gold, who wouldn't want to have him at your side protecting you, defending you, loving you.
Caitlyn "Cait" Moore is a beautiful woman with so many insecurities because of her past weight problem. Being teased in the school is hard some kids can be really cruel but what about as an adult. Could actions that adults do also affect how a person feels. This is something that Cait has been suffering for awhile but now she is ready to make a difference for other people. She has created a weight loss program to help other young adults and adults on the importance of exercising but also help them choose the right diet plan to help them. So when this muscle man MMA fighter seems interested in her she retreats. How could an extremely good looking guy be interested in her he should be interested in a gorgeous model type not one that still has some weight to lose.
Dante "Inferno" Jones needs to get ready for a match that will get him to win the Welterweight Championship belt that he has been after for a very long time. So when he sees Cait for the first time at an after party he has no words. She is a beautiful woman with curves in the right places. Only there is a problem she is not falling all over him like other women. The first woman that intrigues him and she is actually denying him and runs away from him. Well he is taking that as a challenge only that Cait's bestfriend, Amy, warns him that he needs to go slow with her if he truly wants a relationship with her. If she was just another notch on his belt it would be over her dead body. Dante sees the passion in her but she has it buried deeply and he can't wait to unwrap it and it will happen especially after their first kiss.
I am truly amazed with Cait and her determination to help other people. She knows what it is like when there are mean boys telling nasty things to a young girl about her weight because that was her at one time. Only she is also a very frustrating person that seems to go from hot to cold in a matter of seconds. I sometimes wanted to strangle her because she had this hot amazing guy that was practically falling at her feet. She needed to feel confident of her new body and embrace her beauty. Now as for Dante what can I say he was a fine specimen that had me drooling with his sexiness. I love it when the male character is not only a badass fighter but is also inked up. Dante is someone that doesn't do slow in order to get a girl but for Cait he is willing to try but not only that I was happy that he was able to open up to her about his childhood and his second father. I loved how protective he was of Cait and defended her something that no other man had done before him.
Then what can I say about Amy, one of Cait's bestfriend. I was happy that she interfered in Cait and Dante's progression of a relationship that should have developed sooner but Cait had issues that she needed to resolve. Then of course you have Paul her other bestfriend, now he was a hoot. I totally loved him but yes he almost got killed for developing a plan to make Dante get his head in training. It was a plan that had Dante seeing red and was ready to kill the person that laid a finger on his precious Cait. I would love to have those types of friends that will have a bowl of rocky road and make everything better.
Extreme Love was an amazing read that I would not mind rereading it in the near future; this will definitely be staying in my library. I have to say that Ms. Niles definitely did not disappoint. Yes as I said before I did want to strangle both main characters and I truly wanted to kill the opponent, Sentori. Sentori was a jerk that needed to be dealt with and put in his place for the hurtful words that he said to Cait. The development of the relationship between Cait and Dante was perfect, even if it wasn't slow on Dante's part it was still at a good pace. The plot was filled with enough testosterone, excitement, passion and insecurities between both Cait and Dante. The writing style is passionate, artistic and smooth. The sexual chemistry between them is sizzling hot from the moment that they touch each you know the sheets will be burning.
Extreme Love kept me immersed and I actually couldn't put it down so in one sitting I read it from beginning to end because I needed to know what was going to happen between Cait and Dante. The passion that they bring forth is unbelievable and believe me you will not want to miss reading this story. I will be patiently waiting for the next book to come out later this year.
